SBS World News Re-Brand
There are 2 sides to every story, and the truth lies in the space between. By overlapping 2 circles and highlighting the space between, we created a visual metaphor for this concept.
The design needed to stand out amongst other network news packages. The design was predominantly white, with charcoal and red used as highlight colours.
Further developing the concept and visual look, the overlapping circles evolved into overlapping spheres. The forms were brought into 3d, where a great deal of experimentation was undertaken to determine how this concept could be utilised and depicted graphically. The result was a beautiful, sculptural aesthetic.
Through experimentation 4 design principles were identified. These became the motion design principles that would underpin all graphic elements within the package
With a fundamental graphic system in place, the graphics were rolled out across the broadcast package
The SBS World News Re-brand influenced the wider SBS News Brand, which included designing elements for use across digital platforms
